Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday delivered a speech at a grand rally at Tiananmen Square in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC).

"We gathered here today for a grand rally to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC，" said Xi， also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission."Right at this moment， Chinese people of all ethnic groups and all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation at home and abroad take pride in and give our best wishes to our great motherland with great joy，" he added.在這里，我代表黨中央、全國(guó)人大、國(guó)務(wù)院、全國(guó)政協(xié)和中央軍委，向一切為民族獨(dú)立和人民解放、國(guó)家富強(qiáng)和人民幸福建立了不朽功勛的革命先輩和烈士們，表示深切的懷念！向全國(guó)各族人民和海內(nèi)外愛(ài)國(guó)同胞，致以熱烈的祝賀！向關(guān)心和支持中國(guó)發(fā)展的各國(guó)朋友，表示衷心的感謝！Xi remembered revolutionary forefathers and martyrs for their feats in pursuing national independence and liberation， a stronger and more prosperous country and the peoples well-being.Xi extended warm National Day congratulations to Chinese people of all ethnic groups and all compatriots at home and abroad.Xi also expressed heartfelt gratitude to friends around the world for their caring for and support to Chinas development.70年前的今天，毛澤東同志在這里向世界莊嚴(yán)宣告了中華人民共和國(guó)的成立，中國(guó)人民從此站起來(lái)了。這一偉大事件，徹底改變了近代以后100多年中國(guó)積貧積弱、受人欺凌的悲慘命運(yùn)，中華民族走上了實(shí)現(xiàn)偉大復(fù)興的壯闊道路。The founding of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) completely changed Chinas miserable fate of being poor and weak and being bullied and humiliated in over 100 years since the advent of modern times， Xi said."Seventy years ago on this day， Comrade Mao Zedong solemnly declared here to the world that the PRC was founded and the Chinese people had stood up，" Xi said.The Chinese nation has since then embarked on the path of realizing national rejuvenation， he said.70年來(lái)，全國(guó)各族人民同心同德、艱苦奮斗，取得了令世界刮目相看的偉大成就。今天，社會(huì)主義中國(guó)巍然屹立在世界東方，沒(méi)有任何力量能夠撼動(dòng)我們偉大祖國(guó)的地位，沒(méi)有任何力量能夠阻擋中國(guó)人民和中華民族的前進(jìn)步伐。No force can ever shake the status of China， or stop the Chinese people and nation from marching forward， Xi said.Xi said Chinese people of all ethnic groups have made great achievements that amaze the world， over the past seven decades through concerted efforts and arduous struggle. 新華社記者 謝環(huán)馳 攝同志們、朋友們！前進(jìn)征程上，我們要堅(jiān)持中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)，堅(jiān)持人民主體地位，堅(jiān)持中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義道路，全面貫徹執(zhí)行黨的基本理論、基本路線、基本方略，不斷滿足人民對(duì)美好生活的向往，不斷創(chuàng)造新的歷史偉業(yè)。Xi called for upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC).Xi underlined the importance of ensuring the principal status of the people， staying on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics， and fully implementing the Partys basic theory， line and policy.He also called for efforts to constantly meet peoples aspirations for a better life and make new historic achievements.前進(jìn)征程上，我們要堅(jiān)持“和平統(tǒng)一、一國(guó)兩制”的方針，保持香港、澳門長(zhǎng)期繁榮穩(wěn)定，推動(dòng)海峽兩岸關(guān)系和平發(fā)展，團(tuán)結(jié)全體中華兒女，繼續(xù)為實(shí)現(xiàn)祖國(guó)完全統(tǒng)一而奮斗。"On our journey forward， we must uphold the principles of peaceful reunification and one country， two systems， maintain lasting prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao， promote the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations， unite all Chinese sons and daughters， and continue to strive for the motherlands complete reunification，" Xi said.前進(jìn)征程上，我們要堅(jiān)持和平發(fā)展道路，奉行互利共贏的開(kāi)放戰(zhàn)略，繼續(xù)同世界各國(guó)人民一道推動(dòng)共建人類命運(yùn)共同體。Xi pledged that the country will stay on the path of peaceful development， and pursue a mutually beneficial strategy of opening up."We will continue to work with people from all countries to push for jointly building a community with a shared future for humanity，" Xi said.中國(guó)人民解放軍和人民武裝警察部隊(duì)要永葆人民軍隊(duì)性質(zhì)、宗旨、本色，堅(jiān)決維護(hù)國(guó)家主權(quán)、安全、發(fā)展利益，堅(jiān)決維護(hù)世界和平。He stressed that the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army and the Peoples Armed Police Force should always preserve their nature， purpose and character as the forces of the people， resolutely safeguard Chinas sovereignty， security， and development interests， and firmly uphold world peace.

同志們、朋友們！

中國(guó)的昨天已經(jīng)寫在人類的史冊(cè)上，中國(guó)的今天正在億萬(wàn)人民手中創(chuàng)造，中國(guó)的明天必將更加美好。全黨全軍全國(guó)各族人民要更加緊密地團(tuán)結(jié)起來(lái)，不忘初心，牢記使命，繼續(xù)把我們的人民共和國(guó)鞏固好、發(fā)展好，繼續(xù)為實(shí)現(xiàn)“兩個(gè)一百年”奮斗目標(biāo)、實(shí)現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興的中國(guó)夢(mèng)而努力奮斗！Xi called for concerted efforts to achieve the two centenary goals and realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.Chinas yesterday had been inscribed in human history while Chinas today is being created in the hands of hundreds of millions of Chinese people， Xi said， adding that "China will surely have an even brighter future."All Party members， armed forces and people of all ethnic groups should unite more closely together， stay true to the founding mission， build on existing achievements and continue to develop our peoples republic， Xi said， adding that continued efforts should be made to achieve the two centenary goals and national rejuvenation.
